Dark shadows of wriggling writhing
shapeless forms, tried seeping through the doorways
I ran to shut the doors to keep them out
For I know what they will morph to
And what they can possibly create
I lean against the doorway with all my weight against it
When I see the gaps in the windows and
other doors slowly letting this formless
Blackness into the calm chamber
Feeling trapped with nowhere to go
And no other way to stop it
Resignation creeps in steadily.
Sensing, more like smelling, the dark
shapeless sinister matter edges
towards me with a great appetite
to engulf me.
Whole!
I put up a fight...
