En Garde

When all is quiet,

And only the Billy Goat's troll,

Under the bridge, snores!

When Dahl's giant sneaks,

From one window to another,

Blowing in dreams!

When the soft flutter of,

Solomon's flying carpet,

Doesn't warrant a look!

When the Arabian nose,

Proposed djinn and shour,

To ward off the unwelcome!

That's when you sidle in,

To catch a glimpse of,

The dormant gluttonous dragon!

Look out!

For if you should drop a pin,

All hell should break loose!

The untethered, unchained,

Beast will reawake to,

Chain you to its,

Treasured Golden Chest!
